Melissa George Bio
"I hardly knew anything when I first arrived. I had to learn how to act as I went along. After about a year I got a grip on what acting was all about and it started coming straight from my heart; I wasn't just saying the words any longer." Melissa George
Former professional roller-skating champ and model, Melissa George was first noticed in the show biz scene after earning the title of Western Australia's Teenage Model of the Year. Melissa landed on the small screen as Angel Brooks/Parish on the Australian long-running series Home and Away. Portraying the character for three seasons (1993-1996), Melissa earned several awards for the role, including an Australia's Golden Logie Award twice and was voted the Most Desirable Star on British TV by ITV viewers (1995).

She also guest starred in an episode of the Australian shows Good News Week (1996) and Murder Call (1997), as well as starred in the TV movie Fable in 1997.
In America, Melissa initiated her screen appearances by starring in the poorly made TV movie Hollyweird in 1998. Following her stripped pose in an Australian edition of Playboy in 1997, Melissa nabbed her debut gig on the Hollywood screen. Alex Proyas handed her a bit part in his sci-fi thriller Dark City (1998, as May), in which she shared the screen with actors Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, and Kiefer Sutherland. She followed it up with the next year's performance as Terence Stamp's miserable daughter Jenny in Steven Soderbergh's crime-drama The Limey (alongside Lesley Ann Warren and Barry Newman). About director Steven Soderbergh, Melissa noted, "On the set, he was really one of the crew; he wasn't pretentious like some directors. He was just totally into his work and he allowed you to improvise a lot."
More memorable roles came in the 2000s. She played criminal cheerleader Cleo Miller in Francine McDougall's crime-comedy Sugar & Spice (2001, opposite Marla Sokoloff and Marley Shelton). Also in 2001, Melissa played gangster member Camilla Rhodes in David Lynch's mystery-drama hit Mulholland Dr. and Amanda in Kyle Cooper's high-school drama New Port South. After starring in the brief-running TV series Thieves (2001, opposite John Stamos) and Lost in Oz (2002, with Colin Egglesfield), Melissa costarred in Peyton Reed's romance-comedy Down with Love (2003, starring Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor).
Portraying Michael Vartan's new wife and Jennifer Garner's rival Lauren Reed, in the runaway success series Alias, is probably Melissa's most prestigious role so far. The role she played for two seasons (2003-2004) netted her a Face of the Future Award. Meanwhile, Melissa played recurring roles in the hit series Friends (as Lesbian nanny Molly) and Charmed (as the Valkryies' queen Freyja).
Recently in 2005, Melissa starred with Ryan Reynolds, Jimmy Bennett, Jesse James, and Chloe Moretz, as a terrorized family member in Andrew Douglas' adaptation of Jay Anson's true-story novel, The Amityville Horror, a remake of the 1970s classic. Soon, Melissa will act in Mikael Håfström's screen version of James Siegel's thriller novel, Derailed. She will portray the role of Deanna Schine and team with actors Clive Owen, Jennifer Aniston, and Harris Vincent.
