Gail Porter Bio

Gail Porter was born in Edinburgh at Simpson's Memorial Hospital on the 23rd of March 1971 at 7pm. When at school Gail had the nickname 'Snobby' due to the fact that she was devoted to her learning. At her end-of-school exams she excelled doing extremely well, though she failed her Accountancy Higher after bunking off after 20 minutes. She went down to the beach with some friends. When she got home her mum saw the sand on her clothes and asked how the exam went Gail replied, 'Oh it was very sandy at school.' After school she got a job working at B&Q where she had to wear a badge saying 'Gail'.

At her end-of-school exams she excelled doing extremely well, though she failed her Accountancy Higher after bunking off after 20 minutes. She went down to the beach with some friends. After school she got a job working at B&Q where she had to wear a badge saying 'Gail. Happy to help.' At the age of 18 she enrolled on an HND at Film School after which she got a job as a runner for a Video Production Company in Edinburgh. 'I was treated like a nobody.' recalls Gail 'I did everything from making teas and coffees to ordering pizzas and cleaning the railings outside the offices. Once they made me do it a toothbrush. It was horrible.' After 4 years working behind the scenes she took the plunge and produced her own showreel, interviewing random members of the public on Edinburgh's Prince Street.

This led to her first job in front of the camera as the presenter of a children's TV show, this in turn led to her job as presenter of Fully Booked. Unfortunately she handed in her resignation after getting worried as she did her photo shoot for GQ in which she bared all. The photos were released at the same time as Richard Bacon the Blue Peter presenter admitted to have taken drugs.

She admits to staying home and crying over the matter because she was so worried. After this whole saga finished she decided she didn't want to do Children's TV anymore. Gail is a self confessed gym obsessive getting up at 6 in the morning every morning and doing up to 2 hors of working out. She also admits to being a clean freak she won't leave her house without making her bed first, hoovering is another one of her obsessions she recently bought one of those Dyson hoovers.

She has since fronted Electric Circus on Live and Kicking, filled in for Melinda Messenger on Melinda's Big Night In. Currently she does The Movie Chart Show on Channel 5 and Gail Porter's Big Nineties on VH1. Gail is also working on her own show and reading scripts for numerous others. Notably Gail writes her own scripts for most of the shows she does. Gail has now finished 8th in FHM's 100 sexiest women poll after only being 16th at the halfway stage. Gail is well and truly in control of her career.
